Our client, The National Social Security Fund, was in the process of rolling out applications for internal and external use with key focus to enhancing service delivery to its clients (Kenyan public). With this, there was need for a highly available datacentre infrastructure to ensure fast and reliable applications access.
The National social security Fund had been operating on a manual system for revenue collection from the public which always led to inaccurate records more so when the members were due for drawing from their social security funds accumulated over years. There was need to automate the whole process from collections, investments, member records to disbursements. After selecting a software vendor, the second requirement was building a highly reliable and secure network, compute and storage infrastructure for running the software on and providing connectivity to its members and staff.
